BL Electric is currently looking for people to fill the following positions

• Solar Site Surveyor

  This position requires taking photos and measurements of homes or ground for solar projects. This person will be responsible for thoroughly documenting the site. It involves getting on roofs and measuring roof planes and entering attic space to document conditions and rafter size. This position also photographs current electrical equipment which requires removing the panel cover on electrical panels.

  For ground mount surveys, this person will be walking around fields or backyards documenting obstacles and measuring available ground space.

  Must have a valid drivers license and submit to a DOT background check. Site locations consist of mostly areas within Eastern Iowa, but occasionally may be further.

  Previous construction and/or solar is helpful but not required. Ability to climb ladders, walk on roofs, operate in tight spaces such as a attic, and ability to safely work around electrical equipment is required.

• Solar Installer

  This position will work on a crew installing roof mount and ground mount solar systems. This position involves all aspects of solar installation from hauling modules to the roof, attaching hardware and helping string PV wire. Previous solar installation experience is required.
